A deep love of the Bitterroot Valley prompted The Greater Ravalli Foundation Board of Directors to launch Project Bitterroot, the year-long campaign to raise the initial $2 million needed to establish The Greater Ravalli Foundation Scholarship Endowment and ensure the distribution of 20 scholarships per year. Through matching grants, we can double that and build a $5 million endowment, but we need your support.
Another component of Project Bitterroot is to begin an effort to encourage Foundation scholarship recipients to come back to the Bitterroot Valley after graduation to serve as positive role models and to invest in the growth and success of their communities.
Right now, scholarship recipients receive $6,000 each year toward the school of their choice. If recipients choose to stay in-state, these recipients will receive matching scholarships from our partner institutions Carroll College, Montana State University, Montana Tech, The University of Montana and The University of Montana Western match this scholarship for use in their junior and senior years (provided they meet the criteria), making it a 4 year scholarship.
